About the Expert
Sim is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 14 years of experience in healthcare innovation, value based care, healthcare analytics, new product development and software engineering. He has a computer engineering degree from India, a finance MBA from Northeastern University and earned a Health Tech fellowship from Harvard Medical School. Sim is passionate about innovation in healthcare and is well-versed in carrying strategic business needs while forging business relationships, and advancing mission and vision of organizations.
Sim is currently Director of Innovation at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. He also co-directs anatomy of innovation course (NCE510.0) taught at Harvard Medical School. He has been part of an interdisciplinary team of Healthtech fellows at Harvard Medical School working on identifying and characterizing unmet medical needs via direct observations in healthcare and developing innovative solutions using the principles of bio-design. At Harvard Healthtech, Sim and his team identified a key unmet need in the field of congestive heart failure. As a co-founder of an early stage health startup in cardiology, Sim won accolades in various business competitions (MIT, Harvard) as well as was accepted at startup incubator YCombinator. Sim has also completed externship at MGB ventures and has been involved in the due diligence of early stage healthcare startups.
He also serves as healthcare entrepreneurship coach for MIT bootcamps program that spans 100 countries and is a community of 1300 professionals.
