Join us for an engaging conversation with entrepreneur and CEO Manolo Vega (HBS ‘97). Discover why he developed a passion for peer forums early in his career, his decision to acquire leading provider REF Global in 2020, and his vision for the future of peer forum experiences. Joining him is Leo Bottary, a globally recognized author and speaker specializing in the power of peers. Leo will share insights into why peer forums have become a mainstream category in leadership development over recent decades. Additionally, we will announce a pilot Peer Forum for HAE members in collaboration with REF.

Manolo Vega

Manolo is a serial entrepreneur and Executive Chairman of REF (formerly Renaissance Executive Forums). He‘s a serial entrepreneur having founded and sold several companies, including Deremate.com, which was at its time the largest online auction site in Latin America, In 2003 Manolo entered into a partnership to expand REF internationally and was very successful in building a substantial membership base outside the US. In 2020 he acquired REF globally is now scaling globally with a differentiated model on the leading edge of what’s next with peer forum experiences.

Leo Bottary
Leo Bottary is the founder and managing partner of Peernovation, LLC. Leo takes what CEO Forums have been doing so brilliantly for decades to help members maximize the value of their forum experience and apply these principles to the teams in their organizations. He is an award-winning author of three books, including Peernovation: What Peer Advisory Groups Can Teach Us About Building High-Performing Teams (2020). Leo is also a keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, advisory board member/opinion columnist for CEOWORLD magazine, and an adjunct professor for Rutgers University.

Philip Guarino
A board advisor and consultant helping firms build and scale globally, Philip Guarino has over 25 years of experience as an executive and entrepreneur. He has worked in over 50 countries and traveled to more than 120. He has just launched the Global Executive Forum together with REF, a cutting-edge peer forum specifically designed for the unique challenges facing executives and entrepreneurs that work internationally.

Philip is a Board Member of Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs and the Chair of HarvardAE’s Europe Chapter. Fluent in five languages, he is a graduate of Harvard College and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
